An international umbrella body founded in 1969 by John Rose to connect systems and cybernetics societies worldwide. Its official journal is Kybernetes.

The World Organisation of Systems and Cybernetics (WOSC) was founded in 1969 by the British academic John Rose, who led it as director for decades. Its purpose is to support communication between individuals and organisations working in systems thinking and cybernetics around the world.

Activities

WOSC links national societies and holds an international congress every few years, bringing together cyberneticians from Europe, the Americas, Asia and elsewhere.

Its official journal is Kybernetes, established by Rose in 1971 and now one of the longest-running journals devoted to cybernetics and systems research.
